EEZY CARBON — Carbon Fibre Folding Electric Wheelchair

Did Bath to Paddington with it last week, lifted onto the train myself with one hand on the handrail. Wouldn't have attempted it with the old chair.

Yes it's expensive, no I don't regret it. The weight difference compared to the Lite is genuinely noticeable when you're lifting it in and out of a car ten times a week. Wife uses it daily, looks smart, drives beautifully.

We did a 12-hour day at a wedding - reception, garden, dance floor, the lot - and finished with about a third left. Genuinely impressed.

Took the batteries out as instructed, BA logged it as mobility equipment and it was waiting at the gate the other end. Not a scratch. The carbon frame is the only reason we could manage it.

I'm an engineer by trade and the layup on the frame is properly done. Stiff in the right places, gives where it should. Money well spent.

We have a 1-in-7 slope at the end of our road. The Carbon goes up it without complaint. Marked down a star only because the descent control beeps a little loudly.

Tried half a dozen chairs at the local mobility shop. Nothing came close to the smoothness of the Carbon. Tiny movements translate properly which matters when you're squeezing through a doorway.

Had a well known brand for four years. Battery died, repair quote was silly. The Carbon costs less, weighs less and corners better. No brainer.

She's a slight build and was always reluctant to take me out because of the old chair. Now she suggests trips. That's the real value of this thing.

Bought an extra cushion from Eezychair to soften it for longer days out. Otherwise no complaints at all. Range is comfortably more than they quote.

Was worried it would shake my teeth out on the setts. Tyres absorb more than I expected. Did the whole Old Town with my grandkids.

Folds small enough to share the boot with the weekly shop. Old chair needed the back seats down. Massive practical difference.

Wonderful chair. The only thing I'd change is the icons on the controller - they're a bit small for failing eyes. Otherwise top marks.

Single track roads, gravel drives, supermarket lino - it handles the lot. Battery hasn't dropped below half in normal use.

Sensible paths only of course, but the South West Coast Path's tarmac sections are all back on the menu. We sit and watch the sea most afternoons.

The motor noise is a low hum, nothing like the whine on my old one. Makes a real difference in a quiet cafe.

Ordered Sunday night, arrived Tuesday morning. Driver helped me get it into the hall. Five stars for everyone involved.

Rang up to ask about a spare battery and ended up speaking to someone who clearly actually uses one of these. Refreshing. Order arrived next day.

First Newport County game I've been to in three years. Accessible bay, easy parking next door, chair handled the slope to the stand without breaking sweat.

Sat in it for a six hour day at the Chelsea Flower Show. Bit stiff getting out at the end but that's me not the chair. Performed brilliantly.

First couple of times I caught my fingers. Once you get the knack it's a 10-second job. Chair itself is magnificent.

Six months living a hundred yards from the prom. No rust spots, no corrosion on the joystick. Built properly.

I was determined to be there under my own steam, not pushed. The Carbon made it possible. Drove myself down the aisle to my seat. Memory of a lifetime.

Husband and I have been doing the seafront walk every Sunday since the Carbon arrived. Couldn't manage it before. That's all the review you need really.

Had a question about tyre pressures six weeks in. Reply within the hour with a photo of the valve and the recommended PSI. That's how it should be done.

We now do an outing every other day. Before, it was once a fortnight if I could face manhandling the old chair. Whole quality of life shift.

Just about squeezes through our Victorian doorways. Worth measuring up before you order if your house is old. Once through, it's a dream.

The matte black finish makes it look like a piece of kit, not a piece of equipment. Sounds vain but it matters when you're 58 not 88.

Bought a spare battery and the swap is two clips. Doubled my effective range for days out.

Took it to France via the shuttle. Stayed in the car the whole way. French cobbles in Calais were no problem. Brilliant.

Two flights of stairs from the front door but the carbon weight meant my son-in-law and I could get it up between us. Family Christmas after years of missing them.

He'd never write a review so I'm doing it for him. It's transformed our week. Cinema, garden centre, even the pub.

On wet pavements the small front wheels do throw a bit of spray. Mudguards would be a nice optional extra. Not a deal breaker - I just wear darker trousers in winter now.
